Lion Cat

Halloween is a great time in my family. We hand out candy (5 large bags of candy), talk to all the trick or treaters, eat a "pumpizza", and an opportunity to dress up Zoey. Every year we search high and low to find her the perfect costume. This year we found a lion head. This costume I feel is the best yet! She is a calico print, and because of her coloring the lion head blends in perfectly with her fur coat. It is totally adorable. She totally hates the costume, but puts up with it enough for me to take pictures!

Here is the "Lion-Zoey" we all know and love...

As you an see the hate is a little too big. She manages to wiggle her cute little head out of the hat literally 10 seconds after we put it on. But isn't she so cute 😻

Cat Jammies

So..... there is no surprise that I like cats. There is also no surprise that I am forcing this love on to my child. My friends have also helped make this happen. But here is how the whole story starts...

Once James and I found out we were pregnant, we decided not to find out what we were having. This made it challenging for our friends to buy clothes for our soon to be child, and it meant we got more gift cards to later buy clothes of the appropriate gender. Anywhoo, my bestest friend, Mrs. Smith, got me a glorious supply of gifts that would help me as my new role as mommy. And one of those gifts was this great cat pajama set. It is pictured below. Some may say that it is a little too girlie for a little boy, but I love it because it shows our love for cats, and now I have successfully forced my cat obsession on to the whole family!

Masters Program

This year, in addition to being pregnant, and a volleyball coach, and a teacher, I decided to also start my masters degree. This may have not been one of my brightest moments, but I decided to do it, and I will hopefully graduate with my friends May of 2019. I am seeking a Masters degree in Elementary Education. It has been a fun experience, and I am learning that there are many things I can work on as a teacher, and there are several things that I do well.

Now I am sure you are wondering where the cat part comes in.... well here it is. Zoey loves to hang out with my while I do my homework on Saturday mornings. We usually curl up on the couch, under the heaty blanket and attempt to finish my homework. Here is a picture to prove it....

It has gotten a little more challenging to work on my homework and cuddle with Zoey since Luke's arrival. But I am doing my best as a cat mom!

Meowy Chirstmas

So it is no surprise that I love cats. And this year, in addition to my cat-child, I was able to celebrate Christmas with my baby this year! I always love kitty-puns and I have now passed the tradition on to my family. As you can see in the picture below Luke is proudly supporting his "Meowy Christmas, Purr, Purr, Purr" onesie. I saw it on Amazon and I went for it!
It is also no surprise that my husband loves my cat just as much as I do. I have also managed to get him to love that cat puns and the cheesy shirts. He actually has several for almost every holiday! You will probably get to see those in the future posts! In this picture we are all wearing our cheesy cat sweaters, and more importantly Zoey is wearing a "human" Christmas sweater.
I know we added another person to our family, but we still want to make sure Zoey loves us and she knows that we love her all the same! So in great Orson fashion I wish you all a late "Meowy Christmas".

Cat Stroller

Yep. That's right. It's a thing. You can buy a stroller for your cat. And you can wheel this cat around the neighborhood in a stroller. I personally love the idea. And I had one all picked out to buy, and then shortly after found out I was pregnant and was going to need to use that money for baby things. So the stroller didn't happen. I know that Zoey would love the stroller and I have made it my mission to find a way to get Zoey to go on a walk with me. We have tried a leash (yes I am that person), and it did not work so well. Then the other day, I pulled out Luke's stroller and ZOEY JUMPED RIGHT IN! My cat stroller problems are solved!! We can all now go on walks as a family, and Zoey will be with us too! So if you see a lady with a cat in a stroller, don't worry it's just me, the crazy cat lady :)

Here is a picture to prove it!

Cat-urday Laziness

I love teaching, I love my job, I love being busy and having a million things to do at once.

But I also LOVE laying around in my jammies until noon with my family. I love sipping my coffee and enjoying it all day long. I love drinking it from and actual mug, not just a travel mug like I have to the rest of the week.  I love my baby all snuggled on my chest as I work on my Masters homework, and my cat sitting right above my head on the couch, keeping my ears warm.

I love these moments. I love when we can all be at home, in the same room and simply enjoy each others presence. These are the moments I live for. Here are some pictures to fully document, my wonderful Saturday....

Me loving on Zoey, I don't think she likes my love 😓

The Full Moon

This morning as I was driving to drop off Luke, and eventually make my way to work, I saw the Moon. To most people this would have been a glorious, beautiful sight, to a teacher, it is pure evil. I am a firm believer that the full moon has huge effects on behavior of students, adults, animals and pretty much any living thing. This week has been a long one, and I would love to blame it all on the moon.

Now, the moon effects all living things, and this week Zoey has been no exception. Tuesday night she was running around the house like a mad woman. Literally sprinting from room to room for no reason. I even tripped on her a couple of times! Then last night I caught her IN THE CABINET!!! Like next to the cups! What the heck cat??!! Well...she is already allowed on the counters, cause we have no boundaries.... but she jumped IN THE CABINET! This was a new one, and was super weird even for her. I swiftly kicked her out, but am glad that I now have hilarious stories to share with all of you!

So in conclusion, the next time a full moon is in full bloom, make sure to check your animals and note all the craziness they get in to!

Here we go again.....

The Slice of Life is upon us once again.... And once again, I am going to attempt to write about cats for 31 more days. This means that in total I will be writing about cats for 93 DAYS! Who knew someone could know so much about cats. Honestly, I am not even sure how I did this the first 2 times. Well I am up for the challenge, and if you try your hardest, anything is possible!

And to catch you all up on my life, this year I had a son on November 18th, 2017. So this blog may be more about him and my cat, but don't you worry I have some pretty interesting cat ideas all lined up. I can't wait to read about your life, and I hope you all enjoy the crazy cat lady blog that I am writing as well!

Happy Slicing!😻
